Objective
I want to build software that brings people together and allows them to create and share ideas and content with the rest of the world.
Work Experience
9/2006 - Present, Sr. Software Developer, NowPublic Technologies Inc.
- Design and development of NowPublic Scan, a twice Emmy nominated project that can help you find out, in real-time, what people are saying around the world about any topic. As one of the architects of Scan I had to find a way of building a scalable distributed system that can gather and analyze large amounts of data. The system is implemented in C++ and uses MySQL and MongoDB for storage.
- NowPublic.com is built on Drupal so using PHP, MySQL and Apache was part of my daily activities. As part of the team that develops and maintains the website I've touched every part of the system: from HTML and Javascript to Drupal modules and shell scripts.
- Developed and maintained the Highlight plugin for Firefox and Internet Explorer. Highlight allows users to find content on the web and share it on NowPublic.
- NowPublic's development team is distributed around the world. I am used to working and collaborating with people remotely.

- Oversaw technical direction, scheduling, feature decisions, and coordination with other company products and services.
- Managed a team of engineers in a remote environment to implement bug fixes and features.
