The Pizza Hut P’Zone started to get some heavy promotion here in Vancouver, both on radio and television. The first time we heard the ad we were in the car.
The P’Zone makes sense in the context of the Pizza Hut brand, but it seems like someone didn’t do their homework on the name. About how the name sounds, not how it looks.
In the ad, P’Zone is not pronounced like "P [space] Zone" it’s pronounced in a very slurred way, and sounds a lot like "Pezone" or, as Ianiv pointed out, "Pezón". And that’s not a good thing.
See, Pezón means nipple in Spanish. The radio spot really makes the whole word-similarity come alive. In the radio ad, a guy is "pumping" two P’Zones because they are so big it’s like lifting weight. However, now all I hear is a guy "pumping Pezóns". And the end tagline is something like "grab a Pezón."
Take imagination to the next level – imagine a naked bumblebee! This piece of digital art was greated by Till Nowak of Germany. The story behind the work: Bernard the bumblebee wanted to impress his friends. They were bored and switched on the electric shaver. So Bernard shaved off his fur – his friends laughing on, Bernard realized he didn’t like what he saw in the mirror.
Yesterday, a very stressful day, these were probably the best 4 minutes. Nothing like a good laugh to help you relax, but now I can’t get “I’m fucking Matt Damon” out my head!
I couldn’t resist posting these. Gijs Gieskes has taken the “gameboy looks like a brick” concept a lot further and created gamebox bricks. The same size as a standard brick (and as the gameboy), these bricks are made with a custom mould. They come in natural brick color, though you could paint it yourself.
I am not sure where this joke originated, but it is making its way around the Internet:
"I am passing this on to you because it definitely works and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace.
Dr Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."
So I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn’t finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey’s Irish Cream, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription with the last of the scotch, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now."
I hope you too find inner peace! Just maybe not the Dr. Phil way ;)
