I’ve always thought that the hottest chile pepper was the Habanero, but it looks like there is a new champion: the Bhut Jolokia (Wikipedia calls it Naga Jolokia). Scoring 1,001,304 Scoville Heat Units, as much as three times as a Red Savina Habanero, it has been certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the hottest chile.
Anyone know where you can get some of these in Vancouver?
Advertising has gone to the next level. Scented bus shelters have debuted in the US.
Bus shelters that smell like freshly baked cookies are being used by the "Got Milk?" campaign:
"Scent is a primary driver of memory," Zafonte said. "When you smell baby powder or chocolate chip cookies, everyone feels good."
To overcome the frequent blasts of exhaust and the funky whiffs that often permeate a big-city bus shelter, scented oils were sandwiched between cardboard cards emblazoned with "Got Milk?" and affixed to shelter walls.
It costs about US$30 per shelter, Zafonte said, and the smell should last one to two weeks depending on the location. The displays will last about a month. (CBC)
I dunno about you, but if I smelled cookies, I’d go buy cookies. And a coffee.

A restaurant promotion event is upcoming in Vancouver – Taste of Yaletown.
October 13 – 29, Yaletown restaurants are offering a 3-course set menu for $25, $35 or $45.
I would like to try Brix or Villa del Lupo perhaps. Seem to have the most unique menu items.
