Skype has released the 1.4 beta for Mac. Just downloaded it, and am loving the new skin. What was once green, is now blue.
Aside from obvious skin changes, they’ve added many new features, from call forwarding to auto-answer, to p
ause of iTunes during calls (wohoo, totally what I needed!), and better audio. They’ve also changed the sign in page, which as you can see is just a tad ugly. The interface has been remodeled a bit as well. No more “send” in the chat page – I guess they assumed everyone just used ‘Return’.
It looks like they’ve fixed a lot of bugs. One, in particular, was annoying to me – it used to ‘auto mute’ when I was added to a conference call, and hopefully that’s now fixed.
So, overall I’m pleased they’ve released an update. My only continued beef with Skype is the discontinuity between PC and Mac release schedules. I want Video too!!
