Antique puzzles

par3_mediumThis guy named Bob Armstrong has a really interesting collection of antique puzzles. He restores them. I think the are absolutely amazing. What true puzzles should be – not just something to pass the hour, but something artistic and challenging.2502x250 SoulMate

The pieces are all wacky shapes, which was a must for me growing up, and the final products are really amazing.

Would you believe a large collection of puzzles were actually made out of wood? Or were handcut?

Bob also has some puzzles for sale.

  1. I happen to make such puzzles myself. If you’re interested in seeing some examples, check out the photo album I posted on an MSN group yesterday, or email me so I can send you some examples. The MSN URL is http://www.msnusers.com/AbsolutelyFreeScrollsawPatterns/jigsawpuzzles.msnw?Page=1

    Hi!
I found an interesting puzzle with small pieces cut in all sorts of shapes. The number of the puzzle is 2624 and the name is The Village Road Paved with Pearl. I would like to know if you would know the year that this puzzle was cut. It is 12″ X 16″.
The other puzzle is smaller and has Cargax written in the corner.

If you have any information on these puzzles, I would be interested.
    Thank you.
