Corset piercing are a set of ladderlike piercings whose rings can be laced up like a corset. Used on the back or elsewhere. One is bad enough. So many. The pain. The scarring. Oh my.

For all of you out there who are making negative comments on this photo, let me just say this is not exactly high quality work. This piercing is done with the incorrect jewelery to begin with, so it causes each ring to be surrounded by red, swollen and irritated skin. If done with rings they WILL reject and leave hideous scars not to mention the chances of infection are MUCH higher. If you are concidering getting this done I strongly recomend using surface piercing jewelery (which most established piercing shops can make costom). I have one and im only 16 my parents let me get it as long as i paid for it and also it didnt hurt that bad cause im sort of used to that kind of pain. but most of my friends dont like it my boyfriend said gee there’s nothing like taking a girls shirt off and seeing that…but i dont care i like it i think its art

I think its hot… and it doesnt hurt to bad as long as u have a very high pain tolerence which i do. but you have to use the right kind of jealery other wise ur body will reject it.

I love corset piercings! It’s about the hottest thing ever, and i already decided to get one befor i heard about the bad effects that can happen from them, but i’m not stupid! i’ll get it done right, and take care of it!!!! I’m getting them on both sides and my back…but not all at once!!!!lol
As lovely as they can be, you have to remember that corset piercings are very very rarely done permanantly. Most of the time they are done as part of a photoshoot, and thus only needed temporary. Usually, these photos of them are done recently after the piercing took place. Permanant corset piercings are surface piercings, so they require a great amount of care. Even healed surface piercings have to be handled gingerly. A permanant one should not be laced until fully healed, and even then, not 24/7. That being said, I think they are gorgeous and am not trying to disuade anyone from getting one.
Okay so like, I used to have a surface peircing myself. It was just above my clevage. But the guy that did it screw it up bad. and it rejected, because he didnt do it deep enough into my skin. I still have a scar and it was over 5 months ago, so what. I want a corset peircing now. But when I do get it done i’m going to let the pros do it this time. Not some 19yo trainee. And I would advise everyone else to get it done properlly aswell.

I’m getting one as done in a week…so excited! I’m leaving it in for the 2-4 days…during which I will take lots of pictures and be showing it off every where. After some research I found out that this is the way to go to prevent infection and bad scarring.
I think it’s foolish and vain to subject yourself to almost sure scarring and rejection for some metallic and lace on your back. Also, the practicality of surface piercings almost ensures any rational person capable of making enlightened decisions would reject one that is so likely to fail. What’s artistic is lasting statements that are built around one’s percieved individuality and beauty. What I don’t understand when I see people with the same 10 piercings over and over again, is, what is the statement they are projecting? Piercings are a trend. Period. If you have an appreciation for beauty put it to use in the world, other than in vain, indulgent momentary fancies. I know I’m coming off harsh here, but really do people think about this when getting pierced anymore? It just seems that its becoming a common beauty trend. Remember foot binding and neck stretching? Cultures decide whats beautiful. You don’t have to buy into it. Just a reminder.

I don’t see what’s so wrong with it, but I also don’t see why you would go through all that for a few days worth. I agree that you should do it right or not at all as with everything in life.
i just had gotting a corset piercing and really didnt think it hurt all that bad!!! i wish that u were able to keep it in longer. I DONT REGRET IT!!!!
I have one, its a permanant one. I got it done in March of this year. I love it and hate it. I am not taking it out because of all the crap i went through to get this far, and i think it is stunning. I ended up trading in the stainless steel barbells for a teflon type. Much better my movement is better and I am starting to sleep on my back again. im not going to sit here and talk about all the negativity that comes along with getting a corset piercing…if you can take the pain get it…if ya think its cool..go for it..its your body..do what you want but also keep in mind the damage that could come along with it
besides..everybody talks about the scaring..well i think it would leave a wicked looking scar!!

ive had one on my back (8 on each side) and on my sides be for none scarred and the pain was very limited. alonge with that ive had just about everything pierced at one point or another

I think thats really cool. I would do that when Im older because Im only 15 but I have medel rods in my back and realy ugly scares. From my neck to my butt and around. Im in a lot of pain all the time so I cant take much pain I only have my belly button. I want to get more but not that much more done lol. That is so cool!!!
I think that corset piercings are pretty, but I just wouldn’t want one because i think that they would get irritating. I do have a surface piercing, which is awesome, and I love it. But getting that many is too many to me personally. But to those who get them, do your research and enjoy!
I really want one and I plan to get one when I am in college, I am 15 now by the way.
Anyways, I have been doing my research and they can be permanent, if they are done by someone who knows what they are doing and ifthey use the right jewelry. Most of the piercings that are “temporary” are usually done with captive bead rings which are not designed for surface piercings, which is what a corset piercing is. Sucessful piercings arevdome with surface bars with a ring on the end so that slightly resemble a captive bead ring. Although the surface bars may not look as cool as the captive bead rings, you have a much better chance that your piercing will last.
Another thing that will allow your peircing to last longer, and hopefully permanent, is to not lace them up until they are completly healed and even then not to wear them laced up at all times.
I think this looks damn sexy! and would have it done myself if it wasnt so expensive.
