Update on my arm

Posted in Arieanna & Ianiv

For those of you who know me, you know I’ve had this weird arm problem featuring some lovely nerve pain for a couple of months now. Despite all the most high tech of tests, all has come back as normal. I am a very healthy person! No MS, no arthritis, no brain tumor, no slipped discs, no Lupus, no anything. Healthy as can be. Despite the fact that at my worst I was taking almost 18 pills a day to kill off the pain.

Well, I am still taking a lovely assortment of meds, but I have managed to completed remove tylenol from the bunch due to my visits at the physiotherapist. Using a combo of TENS machine, ultrasound, accupuncture, stretches, and a whole bunch of stuff I’ve stopped paying attention to, I’ve managed to curb the progression of the “whatever it is” and to make some steps in pain management. I am still skeptical about what “it” is, since I still get some pain coming through the meds, but at least I know the physio helps. The problem may or may not stem from a variety of areas: whiplash reoccuring after 5 years, posture, typing or who knows what.

As we speak, I have my shoulders taped very tightly towards my back. Trying to improve my posture. It helps stem some of the muscle tension that is likely pinching the nerve – plus it makes me look much less like I spend all day at the computer. Which I do. But it’s kind of weird too.

So yes, for those of you who know me, this is an update. For those of you who don’t, I’m impressed you read this far. Perhaps this is your future as a blogger (?) :)

I know about arm nerve pain… I’ve got cubital tunnel syndrome, which I didn’t know I had until I was made to use a really bad keyboard at my last job.

Whatever you have, I hope you manage to abate the problem.
